Congratulations to the George Kaiser Family Foundation and the Gathering Place for being awarded the 2019 ULI Global Award for Excellence.  The Global Awards for Excellence program is widely recognized as one of the land use industry’s most prestigious award programs.  The eleven winners for 2019 include projects from across the US, China, Singapore, Russia, and even our very own TULSA, OKLAHOMA.

Gathering Place is a 66.5 acre park on Tulsa’s riverfront along the Arkansas River.  The park features more than 100 unique attractions to keep visitors engaged and to encourage return visits.  The design of the park maintained as many existing trees as possible while planting 5,800 new ones.  Gathering Place was designed with input from a diverse community throughout the process, to fulfill a longstanding need for a place where everyone can feel welcome to gather and interact.  With the endowment set up by its founder, the George Kaiser Family Foundation, Gathering Place will be a place for all Tulsans to come together for generations.
