Specification Writer - ADG

POSITION OVERVIEW

Specification Writer will develop technical specifications, accurately prepare project manuals, and consult with the design team on product selections. This position will compose and support the production of project manuals for projects diverse in size, budge, building type etc. This position will develop, prepare and revise guides and standard specifications to ensure specifications meet current industry standards.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • BA and 5+ years of experience preparing project manuals, including familiarity with the AIA contract documents and with the coordination required between varying contract types and the specifications.

  • Construction Specifier Institute certification and/or Architecture License preferred

  • Experience with AIA MasterSpec, SpecLink, or similar software

  • Working knowledge of typical commercial and multi-family building types, materials, products, systems and technical detailing required.

  • Knowledge of products available on the market and experience working with and gathering manufacturer’s product information for various materials.

    • Experience maintaining a library of product catalogs and literature.

    • Experience meeting with product representatives and incorporating information into project specifications.

  • ·        Working knowledge and experience in LEED and other Sustainable Design certification programs
