Urban Land Institute Oklahoma has selected twenty-three finalists for its fourth annual Impact Awards. The Impact Awards honor the projects that represent the best practices in land use and development, through their contributions to the built environment and the public realm. The projects promote the creation of resilient communities, intelligent densification and urbanization, as well as outstanding quality of design and construction. ULI seeks to recognize the projects that are pioneering, creative, and exemplary in their promotion of these goals.
This year’s event is sponsored by the Center for Economic Development Law. The winners will be announced February 9, 2018, at the Tower Theatre.
The awards will honor three finalists in each of seven categories:
Outstanding Community Building Effort: Bricktown Beach, Commonplace Books, The Curbside Chronicle
Outstanding Public Initiative: Center City Form Based Code City of Norman, Downtown Quiet Zone, Military Park
Boutique Development: Barrios and Gardner, Jesus Saves, Pueblo at Paseo
Small Scale Development: The Civic, Commons on Classen, The Walker Building
Small Scale Rehabilitation and Restoration: Bob Moore Campus, Sunshine Laundry, Swanson’s North
Large Scale Development: LIFT Apartments, Tract 30 at Chisholm Creek, University of Oklahoma Residential Colleges
Large Scale Rehabilitation and Restoration: The Heritage, Jones Assembly, Page Woodson School
In addition, ULI Oklahoma will honor the Susan E. Brackett Dance Center at OKC Ballet for outstanding philanthropic vision, and will recognize the Tower Theatre for distinguished merit.
“ULI Oklahoma is thrilled to recognize these projects for their positive impact on our communities, by making them more resilient, more walkable, and more inclusive. On February 9, we’ll honor the people responsible for developing projects that make Oklahoma a better place to live. It will be the best party of the year,” said ULI Oklahoma Chairman, Todd Glass.
