    Shawn Whitney is the Co-Chair of the firm’s Real Estate group and also chairs the Tax Credit Finance and Opportunity Zones team. He focuses on structuring low-income housing, historic rehabilitation, and new markets tax credit transactions for developers, investors, syndicators, and lenders. His primary practice focus is representing developers, lenders, QALICB’s, and tax credit syndicators/investors on the adaptive reuse of historic buildings utilizing state and federal tax credit programs along with other incentives such as tax abatements/exemptions, TIF, and other development incentives.

     

    Michael Marsh provides key real estate services to owners and developers of historic and low-income housing tax credit properties. His more than three decades of experience makes Michael an industry leader in helping clients safeguard and grow their business. Michael has more than 30 years experience in public accounting and the real estate industry. Prior to joining MarksNelson, Michael served as managing partner of his accounting firm, Marsh & Company. Additionally, he worked for Arthur Anderson and Grant Thornton for over 14 years. He served as the national tax credit coordinator for Grant Thornton.

     
    Dean West is a developer and a contractor. He is the President of Dean West Construction, Inc., West Family Investments, LLC and TDW investments, LLC.  Before becoming a developer, he founded Dean West Construction, Inc. in 1999, starting with smaller remodeling projects and growing into much larger projects and multifamily units, such as Surrey Hills Assisted Living Center at Surrey Hills Golf Club and the OSUIT dormitories. In 2015, Dean started completing his own development projects with Ford Lofts Student Housing which utilized the historic tax credit system. Dean was born and raised in Tulsa and currently resides in Owasso with his wife, Shannan.
