Join us to learn more about how the Wheeler District is adding new products to its diverse housing mix and creating place-based programming that supports mixed-use tenants. Spoke Street is a special location at the heart of the Wheeler District that has been filling in with mixed-use products like the live-work Shop Homes. Spoke Street will now be home to the Wheeler District’s first apartment properties: Two, 4-unit quadplexes by developer/architect Sam Day will frame out the north end of Spoke Street’s first complete block. Meanwhile, the Wheeler District team is curating programs and activities like a Night Market and weekly Farmers Market, that bring visitors to Spoke Street to support its brick-and-mortar shops and services, pop-up vendors, and more.

Stick around to chat with ULI friends and colleagues at the Big Friendly Brewery.

    Greg McAlister

    President, Wheeler Home, LLC

Greg McAlister is president and co-owner of Wheeler Home, the primary residential construction company in the Wheeler District, where he also serves as director of land development. Greg founded his first company, McAlister Construction, in 2001 after earning a degree in business finance. Following nearly two decades of experience in construction and development, he partnered with the Wheeler District team to form Wheeler Home. A native of Moore, Okla., Greg started building in areas of his hometown destroyed by the devastating 1999 tornado. His infill project expertise expanded to include historic districts and projects with Positively Paseo and Progress OKC. As a leader in energy efficient building, Greg and his team have set the standard for local sustainable construction, completing one of the first all-geothermal neighborhoods in Oklahoma. Greg enjoys a hands-on approach to construction - designing, managing and even framing projects himself, including homes in the mountains of New Mexico and with Habitat for Humanity in Durham County, N.C., and Copan, Honduras. He is married to Robin and they have two children. They enjoy hanging out on their front porch and getting to know the neighbors.
